About

I have been interested in photography for many years. I started with an Olympus OM30 and it didn't take long before I converted my walk-in wardrobe into a B&W dark room. There was a long break from photography, before digital cameras (together with a move to scenic Scotland) enticed me back. After a long time shooting with full frame Nikon DLSRs, I have found myself back with Olympus enjoying the lighter micro 4/3 system.

I am a member of Carluke Camera Club and also a member of The Scottish Photographic Circle, through which I have prints exhibited alongside other circle member's work; follow website links for more information on these.

From May 2014 to early 2017 I entered various BPE affiliated photographic salon exhibitions gaining a silver medal in the mono portrait section of the 2014 Guernsey Exhibition, a bronze medal in the landscape section of the 2015 Frome Wessex Salon, and a silver medal in the 2016 landscape section of the Dingwall exhibition.
During this time I also won a gold medal for best colour landscape print in the 2015 Scottish International Photographic Exhibition.

During 2017 I attained my BPE3 achieving the target that I'd set myself before channelling my time and effort into my next challenge... a print submission for the DPAGB awards assessment in November; it was down in Colchester which was a long drive and I was was very relieved to achieve the required score. You can see the images that I used in the gallery entitled DPAGB.

In 2018 I was pleasantly surprised when one of my prints was voted joint overall best print in The Scottish Photographic Circle's annual exhibition (voted for by the members). In 2018 I started enjoying aerial photography using a drone and learning all the safety requirements that go with that.

Within the gallery you will find a selection of my photographs. I enjoy a wide range of photography; landscapes were for many years my main passion, seeking the light in remote parts of the country. These days I find myself more inclined to visit my local woods seeking wee beasties to photograph.

Hopefully you will enjoy looking at the images in this site as much as I enjoyed creating them, please use the guest book to leave your comments or use the contact page for any enquiries.

Regards
Chris
